PETROCHEMICAL
INSULATION KITS
Insulation kits are used to limit corrosion in pipeline systems. The kits remove the possibility of the system acting as a galvanic cell and reduces the risk of galvanic corrosion when dissimilar metals are present. They are also used to isolate cathodically protected piping systems where they prevent the flow of electro-static charge.
Each insulation kit comprises one central insulating gasket, one insulating sleeve, two insulating washers and two steel washers. The gasket, sleeves and insulating washers come in various different materials with the most popular shown below.
